Born to Brian O'Sullivan and his wife, she has one sister named Sinead. In 2012 she won the So You Believe You're Funny Award for the second time. Bea is her name in honor of her deceased father. Aisling O'Sullivan, also known as Cliodhnadh Aisling, was born at Kildare town in County Kildare. Bea's father Brian died at age three. He was a horse veterinarian. Bea wasn't told the particulars of his death away until she turned 13. As a way to honor the man she loved, Bea adopted the stage-name Bea and, in the year 2017, she wrote an article on suicides in the family she was raised by for The Guardian. Bea as well as her sister Sinead were taken care of by their maternal grandmother Helen (nee Moloney) a secondary school teacher and jockey trainer, as well as a former professional jockey. Her family were passionate about horses and races. Bea started out as a tourist guide at the Irish National Stud. But she quickly realized that her love was performing and not racing.
